Mediation Fees for Family Law

Fees are charged on the basis of a fixed rate for each day of mediation and payable in advance. Fees are normally split between the parties.

A typical full day mediation usually begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. and ends around 5:30 p.m. If mediation takes more than one day, a second daily fee is charged. Second day mediations occur only when agreed upon by all parties at the conclusion of the first day of mediation (or unless expressly ordered by the Court).

Complimentary refreshments are served throughout the day and include baked goods, a delicious working lunch, assorted snacks and beverages.

FULL DAY FEES
The full day fee for family law cases is $2,000.

HALF DAY FEES
The half day fee is $1000 for up to four (4) hours.

If mediation exceeds either a full day or half day schedule, the hourly fee is $250. Fees are normally split between the parties.

Weekend mediations will be charged an additional $250 per party for heating/air conditioning and other administrative expenses.

Mediation Fees for Civil Litigation

The mediation fee is based upon: (1) the amount in controversy, and 2) the number of parties.  The amount includes the total of all claims (including counterclaims and attorneys fees).  All parties represented by the same attorney are considered one party for the purposes of the mediation fee; otherwise, each party will be charged a separate fee.

Weekend mediations will be charged an additional $250 per party for heating/air conditioning and other administrative expenses.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Late cancellation of mediations causes a variety of problems for all concerned. To minimize this problem, the following late cancellation policy may apply: If a mediation is canceled three (3) or fewer business days prior to the scheduled mediation date, a cancellation fee of $595 will be charged to the canceling party.
